5 Months Old, Snow, and Santa!!

We have had a busy day around the Millington house. Olivia is officially 5 months old (well on the 30th she was 5 months old) :) and she is growing like crazy! A few updates on her at 5 months....

~eating green beans (doesnt like), squash, and applesauce (I think her daddy eats more of it than she does ...haha)
~loves to have books read to her, she will look up at you as you are reading to see why you are talking to her
~trying to sit up but still a little shaky
~wants to roll from back to tummy but still not there yet
~will no longer take a pacey (makes for some not fun nap times)
~trying to get down to 2 naps a day
~sleeping 10 - 12 hours at night
~loves to laugh and talk ALL day
~finally has enough hair for hair bows..yay!

Here are some of her 5 month pics that I took

We decided to go out in the snow for a little while. After 20 minutes of getting her dressed, we stayed outside for about 3 minutes of snow fun :)

Next on our list of things to do was to go to Bass Pro Shop and get her very first picture with Santa! She did great, even after the 45 minute wait. She just kept starring at him and then looking back at us. :) She is wearing a dress that I smocked and made. It took me MANY long hours to make it so I was soooo glad that she is finally able to wear it. She will be wearing this dress ALOT in the next few weeks!! Here are some cute pics of our sweetheart with Santa. :)

Some funny pics of O Love with her typical faces! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

There is the face that we all know and love :)

Sweet Cousins! :)

Time just seems to be marching on by! Olivia Love is just growing up sooo fast and I can't believe that she has already had her first Thanksgiving. Sometimes I just want to hold her so tight and make time stop. :) She has been doing so much here lately so I thought I would share what all was going on with her. We went to the doctor two weeks ago for a stuffy nose and she weighed 16.6!! She is now in the 89% for weight! I started her on rice cereal when she turned 4 months and she now loves it. She opens up wide when she sees that spoon coming towards her. When I took her to the doctor she asked if I had started baby food yet and I told her no and that I wanted to wait until 5 or 6 months. The ped. told me that I should go ahead and start ( I am assuming cause she is so big :) so we decided to start. We started with squash for about a week and now we are eating green beans. She is NOT a big fan of green bean at all but I think they are growing on her. We haven't started fruit yet but I am sure that she will love it. Olivia is sleeping about 9 or 10 hours at night and still takes 3 naps!! Yay! I am not ready to give up a nap. Her naps last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Here are a few pics of us all at Thanksgiving. She was great all day Thanksgiving minus a few fussy times, but I guess that is to be expected.

First Sewing Creation!

After many many years of watching my mom sew, I have decided that it is my turn to try it out! :) My parents got me a monogramming and sewing machine for my birthday and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! Today I went to Hobby Lobby and got some really cute ideas. I love love love that store. I thought that I would really venture out and make Olivia some shoes (not really shoes but more of a mix between shoes and socks). And to my surprise I kind of like them. The pattern came with a bunch of different types of shoes and I just decided to pick on and try it. So.... here a few pics of my new creation!! And a few of Livi discovering the Christmas tree :)

Food and Feet :)

Well, we have officially discovered our feet! I have tried and tried to get her to play with her toes and always take her hands and put them on her feet but she just never seems that interested. All of that seemed to change on Wednesday. I went and got her up and layed her on her changing pad and she just grabbed them, just like that. After all my hard work, it finally paid off. :) Ever since then she has been playing with them all day. It is amazing to me that once they discover something, they continue to do it until they master it (which amazingly doesn't take long)Here are a few pics of her and footsies!

Also, this week we started Livi on squash!! YAY! I was going to wait until Thanksgiving but she has been acting hungry lately so we went ahead and gave it to her. She didn't know what to think about it at first but she seems to love it now!! She is turning into a pretty good eater. It took a while to figure the whole spoon thing out but I think that she has it down now. My camera that takes videos was dead but I will post some pics later.

Cherished Friends

This past Friday, JR and I went and visited our friends Emily and David in Huntsville. We had such a great time just getting to hang out with them and catch up on each other's lives. Ryland and Olivia were so cute together. They are 3 days apart and it is so neat to be able to see how they are each starting to develop their own personalities. :) We laughed so hard at them because they are so different from each other already. We laid both of them on a blanket on the floor and just let them play. They both love to watch tv (I know that is a bad thing, but sometimes it is a VERY necessary part of the day....haha) and Olivia Love just started talking and talking and talking to Ryland!! He kept playing and moving around on the playmat and looking at her like she was crazy! :) She just laid there and looked at him and kept on talking. After a while he did give out a little huff (which I am sure was just a coincidence) :) but it was funny nonetheless. I guess JR and I are going to have a little girl with lots and lots of stories to tell us in the future :) and Emily and David are going to have a sweet energetic little boy. :) Here are a few pics from our trip.

Eating Cereal :)

Also, last weekend we had the pleasure of going to our goddaughter Mary Lee's, baby dedication. She is just turning into such a beautiful little girl and we were so excited to be a part of this special day! Mary Lee and Olivia Love were great the entire time which was a HUGE blessing. It made the day much less stressful! :) It was a really sweet service and we all got to gather around Mary Lee and raise our hands towards her to pray for her. (Olivia Love even raised her hand and put it on my arm, which I promise I didn't do. :) It was so sweet. She wanted to pray for her little Godsister..haha) I know that God is going to use sweet Mary Lee in amazing and tremendous ways. She has true God fearing parents that she is so blessed to have in her life. God's word tells us all throughout Proverbs that the fear of the Lord produces many different types of blessings in our lives. I know that many of these blessings are very evident in Chandler and Griffin's lives and in their home. I can't wait to see Mary Lee begin her walk with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!!! :) We are praying for her daily!! :)

First Taste of Food

Well, we had Olivia Loves 4 month check up today and everything went great! She weighs 15lbs and 15 oz (92 percentile) and is 25 3/4 inches long (92 percentile). She is just growing sooo fast it is hard to believe. When we went to the doctor's office it was right in the middle of her nap so needless to say she was VERY tired. Olivia is not really a cuddle bug at all. She prefers to take a nap by herself. So... I tried my best to get her to fall asleep in my arms while we waited on the nurse for those fun shots but she just screamed. I then decided to just lay her down on the horrible table with the lovely paper overlay and she was out like a light! I took a picture because it just cracked my up that she could fall asleep on paper with about 5 kids in the rooms around us screaming their heads off. :) Unfortunately the picture is on my phone, which doesn't have internet, so I am trying right now to figure out how to upload it. When I figure it out I will upload the pic. :) On another note, the doctor told us that she was ready to start on rice cereal today!!! I am so excited but sad all at the same time. I just feel like she is too little to be eating big girl food. I still want her to be my little newborn baby girl. Well, we went ahead and gave her some food and her facial expressions cracked us up. She did not like it at all at first. After a little while though, she seemed to warm up to it. :) Hopefully this will fill her little tummy up so that she will start sleeping a little longer at night. :) We have gone from 11 hours to about 8 (which I know is not bad, but when you get used to the 11, it is hard to go back ) Here is a little video of her eating her first bowl of rice cereal. :) Yay!

Uh Oh... we have a tallker!

Well, I think that we are going to have a little talkler on our hands! Olivia has gotten to where she absolutely loves to talk and hear her own voice. Last night we went to church and dropped her off at the nursery. When we came back to get her, the nursery worker had her up front and was walking around with her. So of course I thought great, she has been fussing the whole time since she usually is not in the best mood from about 7-8. However, to my surprise, the worker said that Olivia had just been talking to her all night! She has really started to do a lot more talking here lately and did it a lot yesterday. :) I got her on video last night just playing in her exersaucer having a little conversation with herself. It's kind of a long video. :)
