9 Months

My sweet little girl is 9 months already! People tell you that time flies when you have a little one, but I had no clue just how fast it goes. Olivia has really started to turn into a very happy baby and is really a mommy and a daddy's girl. She loves to eat her baby food and all of the new finger foods that we are giving her. I just started Cheerios and those are yummy! We had to stop giving her Gerber cheese puffs because she was shoving too many in her mouth at one time and kept choking on them. They must be really really good. O is finally down to two naps and they are usually about 1 to 1 1/2 each so I am finally able to get some things done during the day. And no nap is complete without her lovey. Here is Olivia after a long nap with some crazy hair! And notice that lovey is very nearby!

When she was bout 4 months old she decided that she no longer wanted a paci anymore and took immediately to her blankie. We dont have a name for it yet but I was a blanket baby and I called mine konkie (no clue why) so I am trying to continue the tradition. :) She has to have her 'konkie' for all naps and for bedtime. We are down to eating 4 bottles a day and here recently she has discovered how to hold her own bottle. For some reason she took to holding her own sippy cup way before the bottle?

We are so blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful, and sweet little girl. I pray that God will continue to give us wisdom in raising her so that one day we will be able to watch her accept Christ into her life at an early age. JR and I pray for her future, for the friends that she will meet, for her future husband, for her health, for blessings over her life, and for early salvation. We hope that you will pray with us for all of these things in her life too. I love getting to share all of things going on with Olivia Love and I love the fact that many years from now she can use this as her own little journal of different events that have taken place in her life. Happy 9 month birthday, little one :)

Laptop time with Aunt Heather

This is a blog from Aunt Heather's blog but I just thought that it was too cute and I had to put it on mine too. She always has the cutest blogs about Olivia so you might be seeing a few more of these whenever she posts new ones. :) Every Thursday, Olivia goes and spends some time with her B, Big John, Heather, and Miah so that mommy can go to work for a little while. Olivia has a new found love for laptops and anytime she is around one she wants to bang her hands on it and stare at the screen, and it looks like that is exactly what she did with Heathers laptop :) So here is a post from Heather's blog from last Thursday. :)

I had something else ready to post this morning, but this precious gal insisted on doing a blog of her own this morning. So I figured the other could wait.

My Big Girl

Oh how this little girl is changing. I just can't believe that she is about to be 9 months old and it is almost time to plan for her big 1 year old birthday party! My oh my, how time flies! :) I wanted to document some things that O love is doing right now so that when I look back at this time in life I can remember it. My sweet friend Melinda just has a beautiful baby girl and when I went to visit her I couldn't believe that Olivia was ever that small. When I talk to Melinda about things SG is doing, it seems like that was a lifetime ago even though it has only been 8 months. So here are a few things that I want to remember... (beware, this is a long post)

You love love love love your new sippy cup! You like to drink from the straw out of the side of your mouth so that you can stick your tongue out the other side. :)

You love to ride around on your daddy's shoulders and he can still make you laugh harder than anyone else! You crack up when he makes any kind of animal noises.

Somehow you can find the tag on ANYTHING! And the first thing you do with it is put it in your mouth. I guess they just taste great huh. :)

You have absolutely no desire to crawl!!! haha. We are working on this and you have definitely made some improvements. You can now pull those legs under you but you still really don't like it. You can sit up perfectly and love to play like that. You are also great at standing up and holding onto something. Maybe you will end up walking before you crawl.

Now that you are over your cold, you have returned to being my good eater! Yay! We just started eating baby food chicken and you seem to really like this (I have no desire to try this one). You also love your applesauce the best.

There is also someone else in the house that loves your baby food and hates to see anything go to waste!!! This is what I caught Daddy doing one day with your baby food that you didn't finish....ewww! :)

You are such a great sleeper. You are going to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 and don't get up until about 7:00 or 7:30 in the morning. It is wonderful! You are finally down to taking 2 naps at day. One is at about 9 and the other is at 1. One nap is usually 30 minutes while the other is about 1 1/2 hours. You are also still my big talker! You are saying dada and baba. We are still waiting on mama. Maybe it will be next :) You are such a happy and sweet baby and I love being able to watch you grow and develop! Well that's all for now but I am sure that I will come up with some more for my next post.

Kissing the Mirror

We are feeling much better this week and hopefully it will stay this way for a while :) Tonight JR let O Love play with a mirror and she just loved it !! She took the mirror, opened her mouth wide and smushed her face against it.... she had a blast and did it over and over and over again. It seems that she really enjoys looking at herself in the mirror... uh oh. :) Haha.
Also, a few nights ago she really wanted to play with the camera lense. Why is it that they only want to play with what they are not suppose to play with?? So I had her sitting in my lap next to the coffee table and I put the lense on the table in front of us thinking that she surely could not get to it. Olivia usually shows no interest in getting something that is out of her reach. She will reach once and then give up. haha. Well, that was not the case tonight. She put both those hands on the table and just pulled herself right up to get it. This may not seem like a big deal to most but I was so exited to see her do this. She has showed no interest in crawling yet ( which I am trying to not let it bother me) so I was so excited to see her do a half pull up. She loves to stand up, so I don't think that it will be long before she walks. I will probably look back on these times of her not crawling and wish them back. :)

My Sick Little Girl

After 8 1/2 months, Olivia now has her first little bug. :( She went to my mom's house on Wed. while I worked, and when she woke up from her nap she had a fever of 101. I went ahead and took her to the pediatrician and after waiting 2 hours....... we found out she has viral tonsillitis. They said it is very rare for a baby to get but it is just a virus that they can get from other children. More than likely it is from the nursery at church. She weighs 19 pounds which puts her in the 65% so my little girl is starting to loose those rolls. It is so sad how quickly she is growing up. Yesterday her fever went up to 103.3 but luckily last night we got it down to 100.9 and she is doing much better this morning. I hope our bug is on the way out!! She has been so happy the whole time though, she just wants to be held a little more. :) Hopefully we wont have to deal with any more colds for a long time! :)
