Enjoying some time with friends!

This past weekend we had a great time getting to catch up and see some friends that we don't get to see all the time, unfortunately :( We started the weekend by getting to hang out with some friends that recently moved away. While the mommies had fun chatting for a while, these two little ones had a blast just playing with each other, or should I say that they played by each other. These pics were pretty much the best ones that I could get since both of them are up and running EVERYWHERE! :)


Friday night, we headed off to Lake Martin to stay at a friends lake house for the weekend! We had such a blast and are truly blessed to get to have such a relaxing weekend at such a beautiful home. We spent most of the time cooking, playing with the two little ones in the den, riding on the boat, and swimming in the infiniti pool! :) It was soooo relaxing!! I am so glad that we were able to have a little family get away and spend some much needed time with friends :) This was Olivia last year at the lake.....she has definitely changed a lot since then! It was much easier at the lake this time around!!

First Day of School

Today was Olivia's first day of Mother's Day out at Northpark.

I was sooo sad when I dropped her off this morning and even contemplated withdrawing her when I walked out to my car. haha. She seemed to end up having a great time though :) She played well with the other babies (there were only 4 kids with 2 teachers.....love it), ate all her lunch, and even colored us her first picture :)

She did NOT want to wear the backpack and screamed until I took it off :) But no need to worry, she was a happy girl again once it was not longer on her back and mommy carried it :)

All in all, I think that we are both going to enjoy mommies day out. :)

With the bottle that is! :) Here lately, Olivia has only been drinking about half her bottle at night and really doesn't seem all that interested in it. So last night we decided to try the sippy cup and see how it went. Well, lets just say that it didn't work at all. She took one sip and was done..haha. So, since she had a late dinner we decided she was ok and not hungry and went ahead and put her down to sleep. Thankfully, we never heard a peep out of her!! She slept from 7:45 to about 6:30, so I think I would call it a success!! :) Part of me is so sad that my little girl no longer needs a bottle anymore, but the other part of me is so excited that I don't have to clean another bottle for a long time!!! Yay!

On another note, we had our first taste of PB yesterday! Mommy and Daddy love it so I hope Mrs. O will to :) So far, so good!

Rick and Bubba Show!!

This morning my mom and I headed out the door to go and see the Rick and Bubba Show!!! We had a blast and were amazed at how laid back the entire thing was :) Rick, Bubba, Speedy, and Greg all came over several times to talk to us and my mom and Bubba just couldn't get enough of the tennis talk. :) Bubba just stood in front of us during the break hitting a tennis ball with his racket against the glass just carrying on a conversation with everyone :) It was not at all what I expected. I think that the show is even funnier when you are actually there seeing their reactions and facial expressions. There were several times that I just busted out laughing!! They were so nice and I definitely plan on going to another show very soon :)

Splash Pad Day 2

We just couldn't get enough of the splash pad so we decided to go again with Chan and Mary Lee :) The girls LOVED it!

13 Months

I guess I am about to the point that I don't have to be doing monthly posts anymore but I did have a few things that I wanted to post that Olivia is up to these day. Whether its learning a new word or figuring out how to take off her own diaper, it seems that there is always something new and interesting to tell JR when he gets home from work. :) Olivia is really starting to develop her own personality and I am starting to see little pieces of both JR and I in her. She loves to be held (like JR when he was a baby) but she tends to be pretty independent and somewhat stubborn (like me when I was little). She is also very loving and doesn't want Daddy to put her down, even for a second when he gets home in the afternoon. We are constantly praying over this little one and know that she is going to turn into a sweet and beautiful big girl all too soon. :) She is the earthly joy of our lives and are so blessed to watch this precious baby grow up!!

Our new talents:

~Saying bye bye and uh oh (more like ba ba and oh)

~Walking EVERYWHERE

~Has learned to squat down to pick up a toy and can stand up in the middle of a room, even though she would rather crawl to something and pull up on it

~Loves her baby doll, monk monk, and lovey and takes them everywhere

~New favorite thing to do is go to the splash pad. She could stay here all day if she didn't get so tired

~7 teeth

~Not too fond of the tv anymore....even our beloved praise baby....what is a mom to do with it??

~Goes to bed around 7:45 and sleeps til about 6:45 sometimes 7:30

~Still takes 2 naps...yay!

Had lunch at my mom's house with family since my Aunt was in town from Texas. We had a great time and it was so nice to get to spend some time with them :) Tried to get a few pics of cousins but you see how that turned out. At least it was good of Livi's cousins :) My aunt made the girls matching outfits.... aren't the adorable! She is very talented!

Splash Pad

Yesterday Olivia and I met up with some friends, Meg and Jack, for some yummy lunch at chick-fil-a and then off to the Trussville Splash pad. We met Meg at Jack at our small group, Baby Praise, and have loved getting to hang out with them. :) I think that Jack played a big part in teaching Olivia to crawl. She would just watch him at praise baby and a week later, she was off. :) Jack and Olivia loved the splash pad!!! They were both so entertained and loved loved loved all of the water. Olivia walked around the splash pad for a good 45 minutes without any tears and without ever wanting to be picked up!! They had a blast. Jack even started to take a few steps while we were there and is getting so good at walking! Here are a few pic's of the kids when we first got there. (*sidenote: I am sure that Meg would like for me to go ahead and say that she doesn't normally just put Jack in a swimmy diaper, but she forgot his swimsuit :) Jack didn't seem to mind at all thought :)
